NOVEMBER 21: Eleanor
It was a battle of historical figures (did you know that Amelia Earhart and Eleanor Roosevelt were friends in real life)! On the one hand, Amelia—either Bedelia or Earhart—bears a sturdy name. Nothing quite tops Eleanor though: wife and mother of kings, namesake of a Beatles song, the actual most important first lady in our nation’s history. She was unstoppable in this round. There very well might be an Eleanor on the way!
NOVEMBER 20: Penelope
Drum roll please! Penelope is the victor here and the first of two competitors in the baby name championship! Catherine is a good name; it’s served Andrea quite well as a middle name, and Catherine fought the good fight here to be Baby Nolen’s first name. Unfortunately, she lost out to Penelope. Andrea likes those 4 syllables. Jacob likes Penny. We might have a Penelope on our hands!
